MAC PREP+PRIME, FIX+ Review

After hearing so many praises about the MAC Fix+ spray I purchased it when I was shopping at MAC, about 2 months ago. Since then I've used it on several occasions. Before I get into the details I will just give a brief description of what the Fix+ actually is, because when I first heard about it I honestly had no idea what it was used for.

The Fix+ spray is composed of water, glycerin, cucumber extract, caffeine and some other ingredients. There are multiple uses for this product from using it as a refreshing mist throughout the day to intensifying baked eye-shadows. I have the small 30ml size, which I got for £10. the 100ml spray costs £17 from MAC counters and the MAC website

I love that I can twist the cap to lock the pump, this avoids any leakage while travelling with it. The way that the pump sprays the product is as a gentle mist, one spray will cover almost your whole face evenly. Fix+ hasn't got any weird scent to it, the smell is actually quite refreshing in my opinion. After you spritz some on your face make sure you wait for a few seconds so the product actually sinks in to your skin and dries.

There are multiple ways to use the MAC Fix+ spray, I'm going to outline a few things I would use this for.

1) As a refreshing mist throughout the day.

Throughout the day your face can start to feel really uncomfortable, especially during the summer if you have a full face of makeup on. Spraying a few spritz of this will immediately re-freshen your face and make it feel cool and soothed.

2) Before makeup to add moisture to your face.

You can spray this on your face, make sure you hold about 10" away from your face as MAC recommends, before applying makeup. This will refresh your face and make it feel more hydrated. I usually do this when my skin feels dry.

3) To set makeup and make it look less powdery.

This is what I use the Fix+ spray for most of the time I use it. I find that sometimes when I'm done applying all my base makeup my face tends to look a bit too powdery, or it looks as though my makeup is just sitting on top of my skin and not quiet sinking in and looking natural. Whenever I feel like this, I just spray some Fix+ on my face and after it dries my makeup looks a lot less powdery and more natural.

4) To dilute concealer and foundation if its too thick.

Mixing some Fix+ with your foundation or concealer can help to make the consistency less thick, if you feel like your concealer is creasing too much, or your foundation just feels too thick, then try spraying some Fix+ on it before you mix and apply the makeup after that.

5) To make eyeshadows and pigments more intense.

This is a popular way of using the Fix+, just spray a bit on your brush and pick up the product, or pick up some product and spray after that. Then try applying it to your face, this way you will realise the pigment is a lot more intense in colour. This will create that foiled effect in baked eye-shadows and pigments.

Are there any other ways you use the Fix+? If there is please let me know, I would love to try it out!
