Benefit Roller Lash mascara: mini review

Wednesday, 25 March 2015

I've only got a sample size of this but I wanted to share my thoughts on the new benefit mascara. I feel most people prefer this mascara over benefits 'They're Real' line, I haven't actually tried that one so I can't really compare them.

This one has a (pink) plastic wand, which I usually don''t like and prefer bristles, but I didn't really mind it on this mascara. It lengthens my lashes very well and with just one coat. In terms of the amount of volume it gives I would say its not that great my for lashes as it does get a bit clumpy when I apply more coats, so I tend to just stick to one or two coats with this mascara. It lasts well throughout the day and doesn't smudge which is great.

It's priced at £19.50 in boots ($24 at sephora), at that price I would expect it to be better than drugstore mascaras, which I don't think it is. If you love benefit cosmetics or high end mascaras then it's not a bad idea to get this, but if you are just looking for a good new mascara then I would say look for some different ones in the drugstore, as I feel they do mascaras just as good for more affordable prices.

Lush Cosmetics Favourites

Going into a lush store for the first time can be very overwhelming as there are so many products on display that look and smell wonderful. Trying out new products can be hard too as you don't know which ones are good and what to go for next. Most people love lush's bath bombs but I wanted to talk about a few other products that are not necessarily just for bath time.

Sultana of Soap (sitting on top of ocean salt in the image above).  This soap smells very fresh and slightly citrus (clearly I'm not very good at describing scents). One problem with it is that it doesn't lather up, but I think that's what makes this soap so moisturising. After I use this soap my skin feels so smooth and soft, which is down to the ingredients like rapeseed oil and coconut oil. There may be some fallout due to the dried apricots, currants and cranberries in the soap but not a lot.

Porridge soap (placed above the body butter on the table in the image above). Ingredients such as rapeseed oil and coconut oil make this soap very moisturising, the pinhead oatmeal in it exfoliates your skin. Once you try to wash away the soap it becomes a milky liquid on your skin and washes away really quick. Once again, like sultana of soap, this one doesn't lather up too.

Aqua Mirabilis (body butter placed on the table in the image above). These come in little square bars which you can cut up and use (like other lush soaps, bath bombs, etc). This body butter is supposed to be used in the shower and it contains small granules of ground almond shells (the almonds make it smell very nice and nutty), which help buff away any dead skin. Once you finish exfoliating your skin you can rinse it off and your skin will be left feeling silky smooth.

Ocean salt face and body scrub. This scrub is a very rough and I wouldn't recommend it to be used on the face especially if you have sensitive or dry skin. Ingredients include lime and vodka not to mention all that salt which will dry out your face. However there is an alcohol free option too. On the body it is an awesome product for places like your elbows and the back of your arms.

Lush also does great fresh face masks, these don't last more than about a week and needs to be stored in the refrigerator.

Hello everyone! In this post I want to tell you guys what makeup products I really want in my collection right now!

1: Estee Lauder bronze goddess powder bronzer

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess
I've heard so many great things about this product, and the main reason I want this is for contouring with. But the price tag is a bit hefty at £32 and definitely needs some saving up.

2: Kat Von D tattoo liner in trooper

I'm sure all of you have heard about this product everywhere and so have I. I just wish it was easy to get in the UK too.

3: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

This primer looks so luxurious, but you can expect that when it costs £52 for 30ml. This primer has been raved about by so many people that I couldn't help but really want to try it out too. I might just bite the bullet and splurge on it soon enough.
