Top 5 MAC lipsticks (Brights)

Thursday, 12 February 2015

We all love MAC lipsticks, not only do they smell great (like vanilla) they also offer an enormous shade range to pick from. But sometimes it can be hard to pick which one to get, that's why I've made a list of my Top 5 lipstick picks from MAC to give you guys an idea of what to get next (or get first if you are a first time buyer!).
1: MAC ruby woo (retro matte finish)

This is described as a blue-toned red. Being blue based this red lipstick instantly makes your teeth appear whiter, which is always a plus from a lipstick. Ruby woo is a classic red that looks amazing on pretty much all skin tones. Anyone can rock this shade. The only negative point to this lipstick would be how matte it is, you would definitely have to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying this. But in my opinion being matte makes this lipstick even better as it does not budge! It will literally stay on for the whole day.
2: MAC rebel (satin finish)

Rebel is described as a midtonal cream plum. Its definately a plumy shade, but this plum shade is just perfect for the autumn/fall season.  It lasts a good amount of time on the lips, about 4 hours before you may need to to reapply it a bit. Like ruby woo this lipstick also suits all skin tones. On  more fairer skin tones this will be a vampy lip colour, but on darker complexions it's just a nice purpleish plum.
3: MAC diva (matte finish)

This lipstick makes me feel exactly like what the name is, like a diva.  Its described as an intense reddish-burgundy, definitely a vampy lip on fairer skin tones. Its also a medium dark lip shade on darker skin tones. Even though its a matte finish, diva feels very creamy on the lips and is a lot easier to apply than ruby woo. It lasts all day with very minimal touch ups required.
4: MAC all fired up (retro matte finish)

All fired up is described by MAC as a bright fuschia matte. This lipstick has a slightly red undertone to it, it appears more pink on some people than on others. Either way it looks amazing on anyone. This is a little bit more matte than diva,  but still easier to apply than ruby woo. All fired up lasts for hours and hours, with hardly any touch ups required even if you eat and drink in the middle.
5: MAC heroine (matte)

Described as a bright purple. It is a dark purple lipstick which is surprisingly very wearable. Heroine, like all the other lipsticks I've mentioned suits all skin tones. It's not the usual lipstick shade you will see people wearing, and will definitely be something different to try out. Heroine lasts pretty much all day with minimal touch ups required.
That rounds up my top 5  bright lipstick shades from MAC that suits everyone. Let me know what your favourite shades are and what you might recommend! Thanks for reading!!

Current beauty favourites

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share with you some of the products I have been loving recently...

1: Bobbi Brown Corrector
Bobbi Brown Corrector in dark peach
I never used to bother with corrects before and to be honest I didn't really know what they were for, but after using this I realised that its the only thing that can completely hide my dark circles around my eyes. Its a salmony colour which is what makes it so good at correcting the blueish black darkness I have underneath my eyes, after applying a bit of this I go ahead and apply my concealer. I also realised when I use this I need to use less concealer to cover eveything. Its such an amazing product and you need the tiniest amount, at £19 its so worth the money as it will last you fairly long.

2: Nuxe Reve De Meil

Nuxe Reve De Meil lip balm

This lip balm is the only thing that kept my lips looking acceptable in the cold weather, I use it like a lip mask by applying before I go to bed, or at the same time as I apply moisturiser so my lips are ready for lipstick when I'm done with the rest of my makeup.

3: MAC face and body foundation

MAC face and body foundation

This foundation has a sheer coverage which means most of my skin shows through when I apply it lightly, however it can be built up for a little more coverage. It has a slightly dewy finish, but it can be powdered down if you prefer a more matte look. Overall this foundation is perfect for people who have dry skin and loves a sheer coverage.

That rounds up all of my beauty favourites, leave a comment telling what you guys have been loving!
